CSR AND COMMUNITY

For over two decades we have had charity and community at the heart of what we do.

Our work with and for charities

Our motto in Design is ‘give more get more’ and the same applies in our relationships with those around us. We work with many charity clients and have an understanding of the special needs charities have.

One of our first projects in 1998 was to establish Soho Child 2000, a charity for Soho Parish School in Great Windmill Street. We planned and executed a fund-raising campaign to fund arts at the school. We have worked with charities ever since, including some very large such as Cancer Research UK and others very small, such as Across.

Clever Never Goes

Our current charity of choice is Clever Never Goes, a child safety and education charity that teaches children to avoid dangers. The charity has worked for years on a solution to the ‘Stranger Danger’ dilemma.

Clever Never Goes is a simple concept, the child is taught that they simply don’t go anywhere, with anyone, unless it has been pre-agreed. We have supported the charity for many years with strategy advice, web and graphic design.

We work for charities at a special rate, give strategy advice on a discounted or pro-bono basis to selected charities and not for profits and take work experience students to further their experience in the workplace.

We do all this because we can, because we enjoy it and because that’s how the world works. Our motto in Design is ‘give more get more’ and the same applies in our relationships with those around us.

Our work with local communities

Mayfair & St James’s Association

This business association in London exists to protect and promote two of London’s most beautiful areas. We have been an adviser to the Association for a long time. Ben Glazier sits on the Association Council and advises on web and communications strategy as well as general help with events and communications.

Fitzrovia Business Hub

Fitzrovia is one of London’s gems and is the home to our studio. The area is still a village, where there are many residents as well as thousands of small businesses. We helped establish the Fitzrovia Business Hub as a relaxed and non-commercial networking group that hopes to further the interests of businesses in the area by bringing like-minded people together. Ben Glazier and photographer Mark Weeks worked with the Riding House Cafe in Great Titchfield Street, planning events, talks, whisky tastings and other useful networking sessions. FBH is about helping businesses to do business with each other as neighbours – something London needs.

Clever Never Goes

Our current charity is Clever Never Goes, a child safety and education charity that teaches children to avoid dangers. The charity has worked for years on a solution to the ‘Stranger Danger’ dilemma. You can’t teach kids through fear, but you want to make sure they don’t go with strangers, so what do you do? The old teaching was to say “never go with a stranger” and relied on the child making a judgement; but 5-7 year olds don’t understand the concept of ‘stranger’, so it is an impossible ask. Clever Never Goes is simple, the child is taught that they simply don’t go anywhere, with anyone, unless it has been pre-agreed. No judgement or decision making process is placed on the child. We have supported the charity for many years with strategy advice, discounted and free web and graphic design and Ben also supports the charity as a Trustee.
