As part of our consultancy work for Xerox, we had access to the Iridesse Production Press before it was officially launched. We were able to experiment with the machine and all the special effects it offers. The press digitally prints CMYK plus Gold, Silver, White and Clear. The machine has six print stations allowing you to create a range of mixed metallics below or above the CMYK. We used the Iridesse for many high-profile jobs, for example, the invitations for the interment of Stephen Hawking at Westminster Abbey.
Our early research led to advances in techniques for printers and the development of new tools. We are currently reaching out to creative agencies all around the UK sharing the knowledge of designing and printing with digital metallics beyond CMYK digital printing.
